as i’ve received several emails regarding the new format for the post notification emails, i wanted to re-send these instructions on how to view the entire post using the new format. i do have a programmer looking into the issues on emailing the entire text content on posts with multiple charts but until that issue is resolved, the post notification emails will only contain an abbreviated excerpt of the post. click on this chart to expand to full-size in order to view how to best utilize this new format if you are using this feature.
(original post from 9/25): for those of you that have signed up to receive notifications of new posts via email, please note the following changes that i have noted on this image. my apologies for the test email that was inadvertently sent out last night. i am working on finding the optimal configuration for this feature and i have changed the settings from the previous plain-text format to an HTML format as shown here.
unlike the previous format, only a brief excerpt of the new post will be sent vs. the entire post. with this new feature, if the post contains a single chart, that chart should come through with the post notification. however, there is an issue whereby posts containing multiple charts will not display those charts on the email notification, only the excerpt and other information on the post. those posts, along with the chart images, can still be easily viewed by clicking the title (link) of the post.
if you experience any problems with this new email format, please contact me so i that i can look into the issue. if you are not currently receiving these post notifications and wish to, click on the “Subscribe via email” link on the top of the sidebar at the right of the page or scroll down to the very bottom of the page & enter your email address under “Subscribe to Posts” in the bottom menu.
