fwiw, i continue to give my short positions plenty of room on the stops as nothing has changed technically in the bigger picture. short-term noise like today is most likely the result of the parasitic HFT machines raiding the stops on both longs and shorts alike. in fact, short-term traders might be able to make a buck shorting this rip around current levels with a stop not too far above recent highs, as i’d expect it to be completely faded and then some within the next day or so.
