Here’s an updated 15 minute chart on the HLF short trade, which is already up 15.7% in less than two weeks and hasn’t even hit the first target yet. I actually owe a big thanks to Tim Knight, of Slope Of Hope, for putting this one on my radar. In fact, Tim, who aptly nicknamed the stock Herbadeath, recently had a contributor post this CNBC video interview on his site, aptly titled: The Rumble In The Concrete Jungle.
For anyone in the trade, as I am, for what could prove to be a long-term swing trade (I may very likely add additional downside targets soon), I would recommend listening to Bill Ackman and Carl Icahn duke it out. Unfortunately, they spend most of their time squabbling about an old business deal that went sour between them but Ackman makes, what I believe to be, an intelligent and passionate case for a longer-term short in HLF while Icahn is (or was) on the other side of the trade. Even those not involved or interested in the HLF trade might want to listen to that interview if nothing else for the pure entertainment value as these two Wall Street power-players exchange verbal blows.
