this is video overview of one of the current active trades on the site, CAT. i actually started the video shortly before the market opened today but then a string of technical and other snafus, starting with a multi-hour power outage due a nearby vehicle accident taking out the power-lines. i am now finally back on-line and able to post.
unfortunately, brevity is not one of my strong points so this video is longer than i intended it to be but i wanted to share it regardless for two main reasons: 1) i believe that traders and even long-term investors can benefit from using multiple time-frames to identify trade opportunities by utilizing long term charts to identify which stocks to trade/invest and then using the shorter time frame charts to determine where and when to enter and exit those positions. whether or not the CAT trade plays out, i believe that a solid case for the trade has been illustrated regardless. -and- 2) i wanted to share some insight into my trading style and approach to security selection, for those actively viewing the trade ideas posted here as it is not possible to cover every aspect of the reasoning for posting trade ideas when using a static chart with a just a few sentences about the trade. therefore, i will try to do the occasional video on trade ideas or market analysis every so often for those who might be interested in all the details or maybe to use as an educational tool for anyone new to technical analysis (or maybe veteran traders interested in viewing an alternative perspective to their own).
note: during the section of the video where i refer to using a weekly time-frame, i had inadvertently opened the daily frame but the comments and annotations on that chart as just as valid in illustrating the points i wanted to cover.
