Title: rharvey- volume, the $USD, AAPL, and stocks
rharvey- thx for that link to the post on the dollar volume. funny how we all seek out evidence to confirm our bias on which way the market or a stock is going. i made this AAPL charts earlier to point out the red flag on the similarities between the price moves on the current run up and the run up back in january. given, it was an earnings release day that was the catalyst to knock AAPL down 22 pts in one day but from a pure technical analysis point of view that does not matter. fwiw, AAPL doesn’t report until the 24th of jan if my sources are correct. i marked these charts up earlier but felt i was already over-posting in this blog today so didn’t post it. i’ll start a blog like that one you linked to for all my overflow ideas and chart set-ups so this blog stays “clean”. i probably have 4 or more set-ups and market charts of interest for every one i post here. bottom line is that this guy is implying that the dollar rising on low volume means that the trend is about to reverse (bullish for stocks) yet on the flip side, the stock market and most key stocks have been rising on nearly identical declining and below average volume (bearish for stocks). just something to consider.
