Although I continue to believe the R/R for entering new long side trades is unfavorable, I will always post anything trade idea that I come across that looks interesting at the time.  In 2012, we closed a short trade on X (U.S. Steel) for a 26% gain on May 18 and then traded the stock long for a 27% gain which was hit on Dec 17th.  That last long trade was entered about a month after closing the previous short when X fell to the same multi-year support level that the stock is current at.  Like the previous long trade, X had fallen to that support level while reaching a rarely seen oversold level on the weekly RSI (first chart).

As back then, I am adding X as a Long-Term Trade Idea.  The Long-Term Trades category included trades that have relative long expected holding periods (measured in months or even years) and typically have price targets well into the double-digits.  Often these Long-Term Trade ideas will also appear in the normal Long Setups or Active Long Trades categories, which includes the bulk of the trade ideas on RSOTC.com.  Most of those trades are swing trades with an expected holding period which can be expected to last days, week, or months but with a typical holding period of around 6 weeks or so.The targets for the X Long-Term Trade are listed on this weekly chart (2nd chart) and I listed a suggest stop range with the lower end of the range more suitable for those preferring T2 or T3 (the 2nd or 3rd target).
