I see going long here because all I see is oversold on the MACD and RSI. You see short because you see LD beneath resistance with no confirmed divergence one way or the other and no actionable pattern. I'm beginning to get it. I get it on GLD - now I know why that is your go - to. You are of course correct about CANE - futures vs ETN's, Thank you. I am just a novitiate in this monastery and will have to put off futures until I've mastered doing the laundry - certainly trading LD as an ETN is close to impossible compared to the futures charts. ENPH was an excellent call...but R.P. had to let that stop ride per the parameters of your objective posts. You can't do everything. I get that too. The way to have done that one was to watch the 15 minute like a cat watching a hole in the baseboard and wait for the mouse with the long tail. Even then, most would wait for confirmation the following day, which was a quick plunge. I don't think it goes back above 5. An enormous amount of focus is required for this game. Game may be the wrong word. Ed Yardeni watches all the commodities, including tallow and beeswax to keep his finger on the pulse. Anyway - thus far I am paying close attention and staying quiet as I can be and hoping I can at some point contribute in some small way. Thank you again.

In reply to <a href="https://rightsideofthechart.com/technical-analysis-of-commodities-video/#comment-4238">sur non</a>.

I wasn't aware of LD (lead ETN) but just added to it my commodities ETN watchlist, thanks. However, it is very thinly traded, as you said, so I'd rather use lead futures if I were to make a bullish or bearish bet on lead prices.

Here's my daily chart of lead futures. Wish I saw it a month or two ago when prices were still inside that bearish rising wedge pattern or on the backtest of the wedge from below that followed as it would have made for a very objective & profitable short entry. The move down has about met the measured target for the pattern although the recent consolidation resembles a bear flag continuation pattern. If so, lead could be poised for another leg down which would also mesh with my bearish outlook for JJC (copper ETN).
