I record in 720p intentionally. It is still HD although not a clear as 1080, close enough. If I were to record in 1080, the videos would take longer to render on both my end (via the screen recording software) as well as on YouTube’s end, once uploaded.
As some of the trade ideas & market analysis in the video are often timely, I prefer to get the videos published asap.

I record the videos in 720p HD but what happens is that I post it the second that YouTube has generated the thumbnail image for the video. However, they are still rendering (processing) the video at that time. Therefore, if you start to play it right after you get the email notification, 360p is usually the max. resolution at that time until the rendering on YouTube’s end is completed.
If you don’t have the option for 720p, just try refreshing the page every minute or so & you’ll get the 720p option soon, even before it appears as an option in the settings without a page refresh.

Hello Randy,
I’m new and really appreciate you analysis. I noticed this video quality is in 360P making the details in the charts very fuzzy and blurred. I figure its keeping upload speed down for timely posting but just thought I would check.
