Most or even all of the silver miners covered in the video look to have a lot of upside potential as long-term trades, some better than others but the key is to either use a shotgun approach, by scaling into at least a half-dozen or more of the individual mining stocks with the most constructive charts (which is subjective as everyone sees the charts differently) or keep it simple & just scale into one or more of the PM-related ETFs such as GLD, SLV, SIL, GDX, SILJ, GDXJ, PPLT, etc., which would give you broad exposure & diversification to the precious metals sector.

Yes. At this time there is still a little more work to be done in order to provide a pretty solid buy signal on silver, plus, it would most certainly help to be able to say with a high degree of confidence that the correction in gold is over as well. As such, I prefer scaling into the best looking gold & silver miners, ETFs and/or the metals here vs. a hard "all in" or full position/allocation to the PM's & mining stocks.

Commercials aren't always right & if wrong now with record short interest -AND- assuming that silver continues to rally from here, making an impulsively breakout & solid weekly close above the downtrend lines in both SLV & /SI (silver futures), which is currently being tested, that could spark a powerful short-covering rally. If not, no breakout = no buy signal. Here's a daily chart of /SI silver futures. Getting close but a little more work to be done for a solid breakout:

In reply to BenjaminDancer.

Based on the charts of gold, silver, the US Dollar as well as most of those individual mining stocks that I've highlighted recently, I see more of a "soft" entry (i.e.- scaling in from here and as/if the charts continue to firm up) vs. a hard entry. I explained the difference between hard & soft entries in the reply I made in the trading room earlier today:

Q: @rsotc-Can we expect a official buy on some PM stocks anytime soon? Thanks Sam

A: Quite likely. I’d like to see a little more work to firm up my scenarios on gold, the US dollar & silver and will likely be adding some official trades in the PM arena soon.

However, the reason that I’ve been posting coverage on the PMs without making the metals or miners official trades recently is that I’ve been seeing “soft” entries on them vs. the usually “hard” entries that I like to see in order to nail the timing on the official swing trades, such as the recent DGAZ long (nat gas short) and crude unofficial short trades, both posted on Friday.

Hard entries are well-defined entries such a break below/above a well-defined 60-minute trendline or chart pattern while soft entries, such as I’ve been highlighting on the PM’s & related miners for months now, are zones or areas that offer objective scale-in entries for longer-term swing trades, trend trades or investments. Hope that makes sense. (end reply)
