Nobody has said technicals look bearish. Sometimes people point out potential setups. I take it as a heads up in case we actually get some economic news or otherwise bearish event that changes the posture of the market. Congratulations if you have profited from this rally. Just remember that things can change on a dime. Good to know technicals if things get crazy. But don't criticize people for not buying into a rally. If you have seen a bubble pop, black swans like 9/11 or Lehman then you should respect other's risk tolerance. Right now, except for intraday trades, I wouldn't go long SPY or QQQ because I would be uncomfortable. But that's just me. Call me stupid if you want. I wouldn't criticize you for being bullish if the market plummets 10%.

So true. Now we have the IWM breaking out the financials showing no signs of weakness and the transports and semis above their moving averages moving higher again. Keeping things lite here but not yet ready to flip. Blow off top!!

Thanks Randy. Looks like statistically indeterminate for the week post Thanksgiving. That said, macro rules technicals in these unusual times. Fed is behind the market this time unlike last year's drop. So I would be long bias considering the resilience of the market with a Fed put.

As I've been mentioning for over a week now in the comments (and getting criticized for talking about) there is absolutely NOTHING bearish about this market yet. Those of you insisting upon some bearish undertones to the market because of some trend lines that have been breached or low volatility need to seriously reassess your opinions.

People have been saying volatility was too low for weeks now. Guess what? It just went MUCH lower again today. I dunno, but insisting on some bearish crash right around the corner in this environment is absurd, and you guys are just getting left further and further behind. When it's time for the market to dip there will be at least SOME indicators in advance of that!

Meanwhile, key sectors, including semi conductors and tech (which interestingly enough we're supposed to be shorting right now) are continuing their marches higher and higher.

Thx for sharing. Certainly a bullish bias into year-end. Although those lifts into year-end can also be seen on the 6 charts I posted above, my focus was mainly on what the initial move (2%+) in the market was after Thanksgiving & that seems like more of a wash/equal odds up or down although again, I only used the previous 6 years. However, that helps to reaffirm my preference for keeping things light this week & maybe into next week while being extra-selective on taking any breakouts/new positions. Thx again.

This is interesting; I am very worried volatility is low and coiled like a spring (feb 2018 anyone). With Q4 GDP looking to be .3% and earning lower, it is not looking like a healthy rally.
