Semis put in potential top/major sell signal when SOXX printed a bearish engulfing candlestick along with QQQ, NVDA, & others back on July 11th with large negative divergences in place.

As such, “weakness” in the semis is likely to continue for many months going forward although to your point, they have been sucking wind recently on the bounce off the 218.35ish initial target/support. 242 is the first good resistance overhead on SOXX so any push back to that level will offer an objective add-on, re-entry or new short entry.
