My $VIX targets aren’t very solid right now so take it FWIW but here’s my daily chart with some overhead resistance levels which would be potential targets. I could also add a resistance line around 17.50 or so & no, I do not think that your 18-20 target is out of the question but that will depend on the nature of the next pullback, which might give us some clues to the intermediate & longer-term outlook.

As of now, we need to get a half-decent correction just to begin with. From there, we’ll need to assess it to see if it might just be a buying opp on the road to new highs or possibly the start of the next leg down in a bear market that kicked off last year.
