Agree with you on this. It’s so critical to take profit and/or cut losses depending on without being greedy or fearful. I have experienced the same this week with leveraged instruments.

I think alot of people are watching the infection rate and last night, it looks like a recovery is in place; however, today looks like a rebound in covid-19 cases. I’m monitoring the cases closely and if you have a future account you can get in and out quickly.

hydroxychloroquine is an excellent treatment but not a cure or a vaccine, so although it will reduce the number of deaths, it will do nothing as far as preventing the virus from spreading. I have my prescription sent to me already (just in case) but I’m still not going outside and not going back to work anytime soon.

No worries, I too thought a nice gap down would trap in the longs this morning and gave myself the best chance on shorts as I put all fundamental and technical points into my analysis. With a president like this who makes statements and tweets to prop up the market, I must take that to consideration. Its truly scary when the shit really hits the fan and he runs out of ammo. I’m just hoping I’m heavy short during that time:) Hang in there! Persistence, take our lumps today, but come out tomorrow better and more disciplined.

Trading and investing is a marathon. Its easy to throw in the towel and blame people like Randy on days like this when most of us are short. What you need to do is manage your risk, manage your sizes of your trades, and manage your discipline. Randy is just one resource (a good one I may add), and you must put in the time to work on your trading strategy. Thats where persistence comes into play. Tomorrow the stock market will open again and if you want to do this as your passion like me, there will be days like this. Lets learn from it because if you dont come out of days like this a better trader, its going to be a long road ahead for you. I know I learned my lessons today.

Chances are good that tonight’s futures are going to trade down. This was most likely nothing more than a test of the upper side of the recent trading zone. We know this market will at least retest the lows, and the R / R to sticking with the short trade is even better, after today. If you covered your shorts, you will probably regret it tomorrow morning. The big wall street boys will be saying “Gotcha! Heh heh”.

I think this is highly unlikely. Even if hydroxychloroquine is proven to be an effective ‘treatment’ (not cure or vaccine), lockdowns would still have to remain in place. You can’t just open up the economy and expose millions of people to a deadly virus because you might have a drug you could hand out (also, how long would it take to manufacture enough medicine, and what about the % of people who aren’t receptive to the drug, or who might have adverse side effects, or who are currently taking other contraindicated medications). An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of ‘treatment’ (in this case).
