Hello Everyone,
Not sure if you know, but the bird flu is picking up steam in the US. Millions of chickens have been slaughtered and stock of an egg producer is exploding. I'm trying to just let the news inform which stock I analyze and then the charts be my guide.

That being said, Cal-Maine foods CALM has exploded. The chart has gone parabolic and I think in the next few days there will be a decent shorting opportunity.

The price is about 4% away from a high from 2017.FYI, the highest RSI on the stock was a whopping 97 back in 2003

Randy, if you look at daily chart of the QQQ, it appears to have been riding the 5 <abbr class='c2c-text-hover' title='An exponential moving average (EMA) is a type of moving average that is similar to a simple moving average, except that more weight is given to the latest data. This type of moving average reacts faster to recent price changes than a simple moving average. (source: investopedia.com)'>ema</abbr> since March 16th, but on a 1- minute chart, it never touches the 5 ema. As you may or may not know, the only price it will touch the daily 5 ema exactly is the previous day's 5 ema. So do you extrapolate the trend of the daily 5 ema or any daily moving average to guestimate where the low might be if the stock is "riding" a specific moving average? Thanks

In reply to <a href="https://rightsideofthechart.com/trade-ideas-market-analysis-4-1-22/#comment-23623">trade0039</a>.

Common misconception. The $VIX is what is referred to as the Spot VIX. The $VIX cannot be traded directly, rather through various proxies such as VIX futures, options on the VIX futures, and ETNs such as UVXY that track the VIX futures. The soon-to-be retired VXX as well as VIXY(+1x) & UVXY (+2x) track short-term VIX futures, such as the April & May contracts right now. Others, such as VXZ & VIXM track mid-term VIX futures.

Just as with other futures contracts, such as the stock indexes, the price of various futures contracts with different expirations will be vary somewhat in price.

Little confused here... I am looking at the ticker UVXY and I can see VIX is up 1% today while UVXY is still down 0.7%. Any reason for that? i thought UVXY is 2 times the VIX?
