Depends on the offering. Most 401k, unfortunately, only offer 3 asset class options with various sub-options within: STOCKS (US, International, Small, Mid & Large cap, etc..); BONDS (corp, US gov't, etc..); & CASH (money market/stable fund).

That's the case with my wife's 401k (thru Schwab) but if they gave an options for commodities, that's probably where I'd park some of the $$ with the remainder in the stable value (cash/MMF) portion as the R/R for bonds, especially corp (more so than Treasuries) isn't great right now.

I think the odds favor at least a little reaction (i.e.- bounce or sideways consolidation) here at the bottom of the trading range/433ish support on QQQ before it goes but as I had stated in recent videos when we in the upper-half of the range, I suspect this will be the last visit to the bottom of the range with a breakdown & move down to my longer-term swing targets coming next week, possibly the end of today.

Of course, support is support until & unless broken so we need to see a solid break & even better to see a solid daily close below 433 before going aggressively short.

Regarding IEF and the potential for a rally, it was more so highlighting the potential for a rally due to the 60m positive divergences on IEF & TLT & the fact that if IEF can solidly get back into the yellow zone, that should be net bullish for the stock market unless it was due to institutional buying as a flight-to-safety bid (i.e.- selling high-beta growth stocks in anticipation of a drop & moving the $$ into safe-haven Treasuries).

Therefore, a long on IEF or TLT might work as an indirect hedge to a swing short position on QQQ and/or IWM.

I somehow misunderstood your IEF analysis and thought a rally coming.
Anyway thank you for your update.
If you think there is a potential short term bounce in future, pls share.

Randy, your analysis on NQ and QQQ certainly has been spot on with respect to this dump today. I'm not seeing any divergence on the 15 minute charts or longer but please keep us abreast of what you think is going on.
