I glanced the headlines & can see they are in talks to buy LOGM but no deal yet from what I can gather. Regardless, it's hard to spin buyout discussions as anything but bullish UNLESS the buyout candidate has already made a big run in recent days/week/months on rumors or word of those discussions, in which case the best-case scenario (buy out price) may already be mostly or fully (and even, then some) priced in. That doesn't appear to be the case on LOGM & the charts appear very constructive to me so the buyout talks appear to help support the bullish technical case for a long position on the stock. Thx for sharing that.

I can't really speak to the specifics (strike, expiration, etc..) on options trades as options aren't my forte but as far as whether or not to wait for a sell signal on the market, that is certainly the safe bet & the entry with a higher chance of success. The uptrend has been very resilient lately & December tends to have a bullish bias as does January although that doesn't mean that the market can't or won't correct before Jan 20th.

An early sell signal would be a solid break below those bearish rising wedges/short-term uptrend lines that I posted on /ES & /NQ today although hard to say if they will play out for anything more than another 3% or so drop like we had a week or so ago following the last 60m sell signals. I would also add that if the recent breakouts in the energy sector stick, that rally could spill over into other sectors in the coming weeks to months. Tough market right now with bearish technicals building on the longer-term charts yet the market continues to march higher without any decent sell signals. Better fish to fry elsewhere besides the major indexes right now IMO but g-luck on both trades.

Thx for sharing that. If AGX can build on yesterday's gains to print a solid close above yesterday's bullish engulfing candlestick, that would help the bullish case as I should have mentioned (if I didn't) that I like to see confirming green candles following a bullish engulfing candlestick just as I like to see follow up red candles following a bearish engulfing candlestick.

I’m in a Jan 20th 300 Put for SPY... It really does seem bullish... I bought GLD calls short term trade for this week expiration 13th. I might average up on my SPY put, should def wait for a sell Signal... Not sure if SPY gets to 300 before Jan20th not sure if it’s enough time... Any thoughts Randy?
Thanks,

AGX has some interest from the value investors (Prem Watsa & Bill Nasgovitz) so the move today may have been one of them increasing their stake. From several write-ups I've read and my own valuation calculations they're currently trading below fair value of $40/sh. They may not be much interest to the pure traders, but to the longer term eyed investor it looks like a good entry point.
