While I can’t provide individual investment advice, I can (and will) be glad to share my opinion. First, the $VIX should NEVER be held as a long-term trend or swing trade. Only a hit & run (get in & get out, relatively quickly). How quick depends on the charts of both the $VIX as well as the stock market (particularly SPY as the VIX is tied to the S&P 500, not the Nasdaq).

Essentially, you can make quick (one day to maybe a week or so) trades on the $VIX, long or short, if you can make a good case (breakouts & breakdowns/buy & sell signal) on the stock market plus the $VIX charts confirm (sometimes the market pulls back without much of a bounce in the VIX).

As of right now, the next & highest probability long entry for the $VIX will come if/when the quad sell signals I’ve been taking about recently; solid breaks below Tuesday’s lows on SPY, QQQ, AMZN, & META.

Should those sell signals come AND lead to a substantial drop in the stock market, $VIX should do very well & potentially, very fast. I’ve covered some price targets in recent videos & will pick up my analysis of the $VIX if & when we get those sell signals.

/NG UNG now appears ready to pop IMO. I took a (very) small starter yesterday & plan to add if (and only if) it solidly takes out this downtrend line as well as UNG taking out the downtrend line that comes in slightly above. 60m charts on both below.
