on UNG buying dips over past 30 days. i shouldve employed stops but didnt. My choice is sell and put in something more promising or ride out another few weeks At this point , decay is a big concern as i have purchased the etn 3x over past 30 days. Do i hold for a rebound ?

Nah, BOIL is guaranteed to continue to loss $$ over time due to the costs plus the decay from the leverage but unless it blows up (always a possibility with leveraged ETNs tracking volatile underlying securities), they’ll just occasionally do reverse splits to keep the price in a normal range.

I was specifically referring to UNG as it is an ETN that has additional costs associated with continually rolling over futures contracts in addition to the usual costs. BOIL & KOLD are even worse if held for long periods (months, years, etc..) due to the costs UNG has plus the decay from the leverage (see my explanation under the ETF related questions in the FAQ page, found under RESOURCES at the top menu). Nat gas is usually good for swing trades that last anywhere from a few days to a few weeks but usually not much more than a month or two.

Not true. I am & have been long several commodities across multiple accounts recently including DJP, wheat, nat gas, & lean hogs while short the precious metals (if counting those as commodities)

I don’t know about Randy boil might well be headed for Zero. On the other hand Randy’s porte is to spotlight the highest probability trades. That’s what hes doing I’m Sure about that.
