In reply to rsotc. Of course, the stock market is not the economy but it would be extremely rare to see a recession without a bear market, especially if the recession is anything more than very mild & swift.

Be careful trying to extrapolate a blip against a current trend as anything more than just that unless there is sufficient evidence that indicates it is more than likely a trend reversal that is likely to mark a bottom than merely a bounce. Additionally, just like the inverted yield curve, historically once the LEI has fallen to such levels, especially vs. GDP, a recession followed. Speaking of that, still waiting for the yield curve to un-invert, which is a close at it gets to the "timing" part of that extremely reliable recession indicator.

In the video you show a chart of the LEI indicator around the 20 minute mark.
In 2003, 2009, and 2020 when the LEI indicator bottomed and started going up, the market started a big bull run. Right now the LEI indicator looks like it bottomed and is starting to turn up…Wouldn’t that indicate a new bull run is coming ?
