It might be ok to START shorting QQQ here 319 but just keep enough power to keep adding up to 330. God help those who started shorting in the 305 range a month ago. They’re being carried out on a stretcher now.

yeah, banks converting underwater treasuries and mbs into cash and apparently buying stocks with it at these high levels. Got a feeling QQQ is going to 330 with the earning season pumps.

i saw a chart of MBS holdings at the banks and most people point to it and say there is a run on the banks. i look at it and suspect that it’s just the banks turning in those securities to the federal reserve for lots and lots of newly created FRNs.

Buying short-term options outright is a sure way to blow your account. But selling options against your long options can reduce or eliminate the theta decay, and choosing options further out in time is a good way to HOLD a position that you might otherwise be shaken out. For this market, I like buying put-spreads and downside-put-butterflies out in Sept to Dec ’23, and selling iron-condors in the 1-2 months out expiration (May, and soon in June).

I stopped trading options years ago for that reason. As I like to say: It’s hard enough to predict where a stock or index is heading but when trading options, not only do you have to get WHERE the trade is headed correct but also WHEN it will get there, which brings in a whole other level of difficulty & uncertainty.

This range reminds me of June 22′. (In the chart, it’s the orange boxes).
June 22′ = 8 bars with 1 pierce above range.
April 23′ = Currently at 7 bars with 1 pierce above range.

It may play out to be the same, or not. But, I’m leaning towards a breakdown.

i agree thats why i use the futures now instead I save a lot more money don’t have to be perfect with the timing. Mes Mnq is very good because you can get more contracts then take profit easier and scale in easier. Picked up 6 more mnq at 13220 today. take off one every 100 points down. Then reload if it pops up.
