It might be ok to START shorting QQQ here 319 but just keep enough power to keep adding up to 330. God help those who started shorting in the 305 range a month ago. They’re being carried out on a stretcher now.

VIX has closed the day/week at 17.2, the lowest close going back to Dec 2021. Earnings expectations are already low, so any surprise could mostly be to the upside. DXY had a strong move today but the move can easily be faded next week. HYG is holding up well. Bears who are hurting badly and doubting their positions doesnt make sentiment bullish – there are still tons of bears and people sitting on the fence (neutral – who need to turn bullish) for the contrarian sentiment bears are talking about to materialize. In summary – for those hoping for “the best shorting opportunity in the QQQs in recent history”, specially one with big arrows to the downside, it may help to prepare for another rip-your-face-off moment instead.

yeah, banks converting underwater treasuries and mbs into cash and apparently buying stocks with it at these high levels. Got a feeling QQQ is going to 330 with the earning season pumps.

i saw a chart of MBS holdings at the banks and most people point to it and say there is a run on the banks. i look at it and suspect that it’s just the banks turning in those securities to the federal reserve for lots and lots of newly created FRNs.

Also interesting that sentiment surveys have most recently shown more investors are now “neutral” rather than leaning one way or the other.
