I'm uploading a video now & talked about those candles. Looks like a potential bear flag continuation pattern with the flagpole being the impulsive move down leading up to the formation of the flag (those 4 candles). If so, watch for an impulsive break to the downside & if so, it should happen soon in order to keep the symmetry of the pattern. Otherwise, and upside break would likely lead to a backfill of the gap that occurred on the first of those 4 candles, at a minimum.

Randy,

What do you make of the QQQ cluster of candles that look similiar to an "island top"? Daily candles of 4/6, 4/7 and 4/8. Now candles of 4/11-4/15 appear to be looking similar. Is this setting up as another gap down on Monday following Easter? That would create a second island cluster?? Markets closed tomorrow but futures still running...

Yes, during strong sell-offs in the market the mining stocks often get sold down along with other equities, even if gold & silver or going up or holding steady. Not always but often. As such, if/when we get to that point, I will probably reduce my positions in the mining stocks & sit tight (or increase) the precious metals, if the charts confirm at the time.

If there is a market crap-out in future, would it make sense not to be bullish in precious mining stocks at the moment until it makes a new bottom? For example GDXJ - VanEck Junior Gold Miners ETF in 2020 Feb - March, top to bottom from $44.97 to $22.17 a share.
