Sure. I usually follow lumber & like to trade it since the trends can be strong & swift. I've continued to eye if after the CA wild fires figuring that might help put a bid under lumber prices for some time to come as they rebuild but just haven't been feeling an idea entry. Here's my 6-month, 2-hr candlestick chart of /LBR. Maybe if it takes out that previous high soon with negative divergence (which would be likely based on how the indicators are lagging) then it might offer an objective short on a break below the <abbr class='c2c-text-hover' title='An uptrend occurs when a security or index is making a series of higher highs & higher lows.'>uptrend</abbr> line.

Just looked at BKLN & don't like it one bit. In fact, I mentioned that I've been tracking one of the basically identical clones of BKLN in last or second to last video I made (when I stated all of the "non-stock market" things I am closely monitoring right now, including floating-rate funds).

Senior Loan funds, such as BKLN, are AKA Floating Rate Funds. I'll speak about what they are & how they work in the next video but basically they are like junk bond funds but instead of holding fixed rate bonds, they hold variable rate secured loans (but the issuers are usually below-investment grade aka- "junk" rated companies. Not if, but WHEN the next recession starts and of course, depending on how bad it gets, you will see a rise in defaults on bonds & sr. loans from the low-rated companies. That is about as certain as death & taxes.

..oh yeah, those sr. loan funds often use a fair amount of leverage to juice up the yields which often accelerates the losses when/if thing start to go south in the economy, especially the specific industry(ies) any of those sr loan funds might have concentrated holding in.

Good question. It depends on various factors, including how confident I am that the breakout (or a bullish/bearish chart pattern) or reversal off a move into support/resistance will occur. The higher the confidence, the more likely I am to take the breakout right away, before the candle is finalized on the time frame I am trading off. If my confidence is high enough, I will often take a starter position ahead (in anticipation of) a breakout.
If I have taken a starter (fractional) position, I will often add once the breakout is confirmed with a 60m, daily, weekly, etc... candlestick close above/below the support/resistance level that I waiting to get taken out or a buy or sell signal.

Hey Randy, Hope all went well on your follow up at the Doctor’s today. If you could take a look at BKLN for me to get your opinion. It’s an Invesco ETF paying 8% dividend on Senior Secured Corporate Debt. Based on what you see shaping up over the next year is this a fairly stable investment or is there something that pays 8% you’d recommend I look at. This is just a descent sized bucket account I have on the sidelines waiting for TSLA to hit your final target. It’s not retirement money. Thanks

<span>hello Randy, interested in how you enter trades, if you are looking at a 1 hour chart coming into support/resistance, do you wait for a 1 hour candle print in the zone, to confirm entry or will you enter in a smaller time frame, like a 5 min candle print? thanks</span>
