In reply to Koolmoto.

great point. It's not like I'll ever hear anything first. The charts are a visual representation of people's and robot's actions. It's easy to forget that when the prices are moving quickly.

The good thing is that I felt uncertain so I didn't make a trade. My position in NUGT paid off for a 3% profit this morning

Smart money knows the news before the public does. There are insiders and also big firms with scouts getting boots on the ground info for every market moving event. This smart money moving long/short in vast amounts before the rest of us hear about it actually causes the chart formations that are bullish/bearish technical setups. So unless you’re one of them, analyzing the chart is actually the best way to gain foresight into what will happen!

Fundamentals (news, earnings reports, etc..) are quite often simply the catalyst to spark the rally or drop that was already priced into the technicals (charts). If you try trading off the news (reacting) or even try to anticipate what the next headline will be, you will get chopped to pieces, IMO.

I have much, much more faith in the charts than I do in trying to navigate or anticipate the next tweet or news release from Trump.

URA (uranium ETF) coming up on nice support around 22.90 with potential divergences building. As such, one can certainly make a case for an objective long entry around 23-22.90 with stops somewhat below that but keep in mind the odds of a crash-ish type strong move down in the stock market is elevated right now as the market sits just above key support. All (or most) ships are lifted with a rising tide & drop when the tide falls. Here's my daily chart with some levels.
