I think dispassion is the refusal to let tragedy become nourishment for our glee. Personally, I avoid trades that raise my ethical red flags. For example, I considered buying oil when the war broke out, but decided against it. SPY options seem more removed to me. Other ideas: Mourn the dead plainly. Cut off boastful speech. Give generously and in secret.

Neither you nor I can control variables such as war, a major bank collapse/credit event, surging oil prices/inflation, or anything else, bullish or bearish, that moves the market. As an active swing trader, we can either sit back & do nothing, or we can attempt to capitalize on it.

Now, if you happen to be one of the puppet masters pulling the strings & starting the war AND profiting from it financially and/or politically, then there’s a special place in hell for you. As that’s not me (or you), I sleep very well at night after a good run from trading.

I feel somewhat conflicted hoping for volatility generated by the war because it presents such great opportunities. I feel for the people involved, the lives lost, and the state of the world.

For the last 2 days I’ve made over 100% on 0DTE SPY options.

I know the war is going to war on its own and my little bit of money is not going to move the market. I just kind of feel bad being gleeful about making 40k in 3hrs
