Like you said, still backtesting & I like to see an impulsive rejection off a backtest of a trendline to increase the odds that the next leg down has begun.
Although I usually trade (long or short) shares, I've been tricking into puts on CVNA (un-hedge, i.e.- no paired trade).

With that strategy, I basically buy the amount of puts that I am willing to lose (assuming they expire worthless) on a trade made with shares if it was stopped out. Benefit here is that CVNA can be a gappy-little sucker, with a big gap up blowing well past even the best-placed stop-loss order, thereby far exceeding my $$ loss allowance.

I'm planning to continue to scale into those puts but haven't seen a reason to add yet. CVNA is a straight-up "risk-on" trade so ideally, I'd like to see /NQ & /ES break down below the recent trading ranges (i.e.- those red support levels on the charts I posted earlier today) before going to a full position on CVNA.

Bottom-line, CVNA is holding up following the recent breakdown just like the Nasdaq 100 is following it's recent breakdown so if & when the $NDX & $SPX clearly break below their trading ranges, CVNA is likely to vastly outperform both to the downside.

Today was an excellent day to trade. Those tariffs would cripple all 3 countries economies. The large automakers have 3 days of inventory, then plant closures and layoffs. I just hope Trump doesn't try this tactic too much. It only takes one country to call the bluff for things to get really crazy.

Randy, what is your take on the CVNA short trade? back testing still but also above 245 which was minor resistance before. what is your stop loss? Above the recent high? That is pretty far away from the 238 where you said to short.

FWIW, i think KBE might be a better vehicle for capturing the downside in the banks that i think will happen. XLF is fine but it has a 12% weighting of BRK which looks a lot better than all the banks
