There seems to be some firming up of currencies against the USD after China's manufacturing report this evening. Also some BOJ comments about remaining easy to support economy. Perhaps this will be enough to get equities and precious metals moving back to the upside for a little while.

Randy,

Super call on the nat gas short scalp today.
The only drawback was that the buy and sell e-mails were a little delayed so I got in a little late and gave back a little on the end. You must have hit it exactly right.
All in all, great call today...more of these, please.

I'm long with you on the precious metals, but I do think we need to see better price action in the currencies and treasury bonds to support higher metals prices. So far, looking at DXY and especially USD/JPY and EUR/USD, things look sketchy at best. I'm keeping metals positions very small and temporary while the Fed remains in a tightening regime,. If and when they reverse policy, then gold and bonds will be the first place to be and with as much leverage as possible.

I can't imagine swing traders who are short equities are feeling "frustrated." It looks to me that swing short positions are sittin' pretty, as the choppiness of the past five days hasn't yet produced a bounce that has even neared a 38.2% retracement level. And as ES and NQ look like they may retest support and 200MAs again overnight, would you be more inclined to buy around here, expecting a larger bounce/resumption of the uptrend, or wait to short a break below in anticipation of the next large leg down in the bear market?

Was there a short trade on UNG? I know that there was a long trade on cattle which then had a 8% drawdown after a false breakout. Thank god I had already contributed a large part of my profits to learn that I should stop out without waiting for Randy to post an update on the trade.

LOL... See, if you sell all those longs for a large loss but only say "I flipped short" instead of "I took a huge loss and flipped short," then it sounds like a victory.
