The trade idea was only for a starter (i.e.- 1/4 – 1/2) position only adding to a full position if/when the criteria/next sell signals in yesterday’s posts are triggered.

Also,SLV only closed up 4.5% today which is about an average daily move lately. As such, if you consider that being crushed you have WAYYY too much in the position. It is essential to adjust a position size on any trade (up or down) to account for the (above or below average) volatility in that particular security. Plus, the price targets range from about a 20-30% profit, if hit so a ~4% drawdown on a fractional position with 5-7x the profit potential doesn’t warrant concern, IMO.

Finally, it’s all about gold, IMO, as silver & GDX will ultimately follow it. GLD closed flat right on the uptrend line for the 2nd day in a row. As I like to say, support is support until & unless broken, so all we need is a bad day or two in GLD to give us that solid close below the uptrend line & once gold breaks, silver will most likely follow sooner than later.

I did my market scan last night and saw the chart. Pulled the trigger and then thought, “what have I done!”

The CME group has an online training to teach about milk futures. I’m in class III milk futures which is cheese and cheese products. Never knew that cows are milked 2-3 times per day every day. Milk production goes up in spring and summer when calves are born.

The government sets a base price for milk products for each region of the country. I will probably learn more because I think there have been “momentum fueled overshoots” in the past where the futures price dips below the government floor for a short period of time. Seems like an easy profit to buy when there’s milk on the floor. (haha i crack me up)

It’s a small market and fairly illiquid. Only about 650 contracts traded per day.
