So QQQ is still on a sell signal (since the top of the bearish engulfing @62200) because it's now backtesting the lower uptrend line? What about the fact that it has broken out of the upper uptrend line and is consolidating well above it. You're still holding shorts on this since at least 62200. You dont seem to follow your own advice. You said a daily close above the upper trendline and above the bearish engulfing is nothing but Net bullish. Then it was just noise because of earnings now its .....still on a sell signal. It seems you're just shooting arrows in the dark!

I still like the /NG UNG long but I'm just not feeling crude oil, at least for a trade, at least just not yet. Here's my weekly chart of USO & you can see how it has been a dead-money trade, except for shorter-term active traders swinging the rips & dips within this multi-year sideways trading range bounded by 83.10ish on the upside & 59.85ish on the bottom, with a mid-point that also tends to act as support & resistance around 68.24.

Once USO starts to clearly break above or below this big channel, it will likely start to trend in that direction. Until then, crude remains a short-term swing trading vehicle, bouncing it long & short off the top, bottom, & mid-point of that channel.

I'm not sure but I doubt it would happen that way as those gov't agencies were shut down, so I would guess the workers would have to get back to the office & start collecting & inputting the data from that point but again, not sure.

No much, as in I don't have much of an opinion (from a technical/chart perspective, other than the fact it is solidly entrenched in a bear market & continues to get rejected off backtests to the 200-day MA's, often following brief but failed recoveries back above them. So that's pretty much it, if & when PFE can solidly take back the 200's, maybe best to wait for the first successful backtest of them from above, it just doesn't look to appealing from a technical perspective on the daily chart although the recent low was a divergent low on the weekly chart, so watch for a solid recovery back above the 200s.

Randy,
Do you know how the past due economic reports will be released once the shutdown is over? Will it be announcement of a deal, vote, reopen, and release everything the next day?

I can imagine some huge swings. First a relief rally, then a "ohh shit" moment when all our thoughts/fears about the economy are validated.
