In reply to Trent. Will do. The grains continue to trade on or just off long-term support & look to be basing but just can't seem to build on any of the recent runs but I'll make a point to cover them in a video today or asap.

When you say “WHEAT”, which particular security are you referring to? I assume what I post as $WHEAT, which is the continuous contract for wheat futures, as shown on the stockcharts.com charting platform? If so, I like to use that for the long-term (mutli-year & multi-decade) daily & weekly charts of wheat futures.

I use /ZW (the current futures contract) for the intraday (usually 60 & 120-minute) and daily charts, as well as for timing my entries & exits when trading /ZW.

WEAT is an ETN that tracks wheat futures & as with all ETNs that attempt to track a commodity via futures contracts, it has expenses (management fees, futures rollover expenses, etc..) that affect the performance (and hence, the price over time).

In addition to the above question…an update on ZW & the grain trades we have in place would be appreciated in your next video if u hav time – given ZW has not been playing nice. thanks

@Randy ZW Futures (particularly Dec contract) has continued to log new lows since Sept 12, with the recent being yesterday Oct 1; whilst WEAT has made equal lows in the same period, as also has WHEAT CFD (which i believe its price tracks the underlying asset). Thankfully ZW has recovered above yesterdays low and looks to put in a significant divergence on the 1hr & 4hr, but the 8hr & daily indicators dont look good and ZW has not recovered all the lows since Sept 12 whilst WHEAT and WEAT have recovered above their equal lows. If i had monitored ZW only...i may have been inclined to exit on its 3rd break down below the Aug support line, but monitoring WHEAT & WEAT help hold my ground. My question is why is the price action of ZW different to WHEAT and WEAT? Which instrument should we consider using as the baseline to make trading decisions from on ZW? Is ZW the better guide to make decisions from?
