Posted /NQ & /ES charts with my thoughts right after the open today (Mon).

I don’t believe anyone’s come out with another coffee ETN or ETF since JO was discontinued along with a swath of other ag commodity ETNs a few yrs ago

FWIW- I read the same headlines yesterday & took a starter short on /KC coffee futures, based primarily on the charts (15-min chart below) but also, that news will likely be more bearish than bullish IMO.

First of all, Trump beats his chest with these tariff threats & starts high (as you should in negotiations) but even if those tariffs get put in place, which they probably won’t as Columbia’s president almost immediately cowed down, would probably be bearish for coffee prices by crimping demand due to higher prices paid due to the tariffs. (Coffee is already trading at multi-year highs). Add to that the fact Columbia can’t afford big tariffs to the US & will most likely ultimately get on bended knee to do whatever it takes to avoid them. JMHO from a fundamental perspective but chart making the case for the trade (as well as the longer-term chart with big divergence) below.

Me, I just let the charts be my guide as I read one bearish article like that followed by the next article that makes a damn compelling case of NVDA & all things AI to the moon.

Yea, this is popping up everywhere of course, I’m sure they are coming up with reasons that its not that good ….we’ll see….

Interesting video (or not if you dislike CNBC sources) about China’s new AI model being built quickly and for a fraction of the cost. $5.7 mil vs billions of dollars by top US tech companies. With limited resources, they are able to be super efficient with their AI training and development. DeepSeek is possibly on par or superior to ChatGPT.
Anyway I’m not going into the techy stuff. All I’m saying is this could be the start of a classic example how competition can help drive prices down, especially the overvalued tech stocks.
