It's very hard to know when the market is going to finally give in. people are so addicted to everything and the market is just a big gambling casino now. the FOMO and cognitive disconance is amazing. Most people have no idea where their money is, what they own and why they own it. They will never know what hit them.

Not sure if I addressed that in one of the videos recently, although I had intended to (and might have): I have intentionally cut back on posting new long setups due to the fact I'm not finding as many nice setups on beat-down, oversold & unloved blue chip stocks at support with bullish divergences or other objective long entries and...

The sell signals triggered on Fri Oct 10th were about as good as they get (primary uptrend line breakdown on the Nasdaq 100 & very impulsive, to boot (i.e., a confirming trait of a bearish breakdown/sell signal) plus the daily & weekly bearish engulfing candles. Oh yeah, not to mention that whole potential blow-up in the private credit markets I've been looking out for over the past couple of months, finally coming to fruition.

I'll do my best to continue to pass along any objective long trade ideas I see, but as for now, moving away from a very diversified long/short equity positioning to an increasingly net short positioning with a decreasing amount of offsetting long-side hedges.

By the end of next week (earnings, FOMC, etc..) we should have more clarity on whether or not the stock market will be able to shrug off those recent sell signals & cracks in the private credit markets and power on through to new highs, or if we start to get some real downside follow-thru to the recent sell signals.

I don't have an opinion on when the shutdown will end or how the markets might react. Too many variables, but one rational way to look at it:

The stock market wasn't even remotely phased when the shutdown began with the market not skipping a beat. The fact the shutdown was likely to occur was already known (and not priced in.. with the market pushing ATH's) & once it actually started, all was still hunky-dory in bubble-ville. So by that logic, why should one expect a huge rally once they reach an agreement & end the shutdown if there wasn't any pre or during-the-shutdown correction to reverse?

Regardless, I can only trade off the technicals (charts) and not what I think can or might happen.

People complaining about Randy’s market shorts, trade other stuff. The individual picks are where the money is at. No offense to Randy but his wheelhouse isn’t predicting how much higher a market at all time highs are going. Even though I am of the buy the dip mentality, he has had some good bottom picker longs.

I do wish you would do more of those long plays though.

Randy, what are you thoughts on the govt. shutdown ending? Do you expect a short term pop?

How will govt. reports be release? Just one giant dump of all past due information?
