@rsotc Good morning, Randy. Over the last several years, I’ve been reading about how options?linked hedging flows can represent a large share of the incremental intraday buying and selling that ends up dominating price action. Market makers hedge their delta as price moves, and that hedging flow can mechanically push the underlying around.
Gamma density — large clusters of option strikes where dealer positioning is concentrated — helps highlight where price action may be influenced by these hedging flows. It provides insight into potential support/resistance zones, volatility pockets, and broader market dynamics, including the formation of call and put “walls.”
As you’ve mentioned before, when volatility rises, traditional technical analysis tends to shine because price becomes more responsive to structural flows.
My thinking is that dealer positioning can help evaluate the odds of a trade working out, especially when volume and volatility subside and we approach options expiration, when market makers must adjust hedges to stay closer to neutral. I’m still working on how to incorporate this consistently — the positioning shifts hour by hour — but some themes, like institutional hedging flows, seem more stable.
What is your take on this? Thanks

Given the stronger than expected buying pressure after the video, it prompted me to ask the question.
Just wanted to communicate why I asked the question even though you covered this on the video. Thanks !

Sorry, I just saw this one (and your previous question). May prove to be a good thing. Absolutely nothing wrong going flat into the weekend, especially with both QQQ & SPY still above the bottom of the recent trading ranges & several additional sell signals still yet to trigger.

Yes, I believe I addressed that in the video & I also made a reply in one of the recent comment threads from today.

My read is that today was most likely a reflexive bounce of that key 589 support level that it kissed in the AH session after the close yesterday & that many, not all but many, market leading Mag 8 stocks have broken & remain below the key support levels (triggering my 'checkmarks') that the risk of a large gap down on Monday outweighs the risk of a large gap up.

I may very well be proven wrong, but that is my current read on the market & how I am positioning (net short equities) into the weekend.

MM ran it up and stopped me out at closing. I am going to have to remove stops near closing. Anyhow, they answered my question. ?
