I went ahead and closed out every position I had going into the weekend. I think the fed or banks or whomever??? crushes any pop in vol . today is no exception. Gave back all I gained from perfect entries on vix and qqq spreads in one day. Just not worth it anymore. Why hold over the weekend. It will take a catastrophic financial event to break this pattern of control over price. As I can't afford to use futures and diversify I use options spreads and its 2 steps forward, 3 back, one step forward, 2 back with the vol crushes. It will be an interesting thing to watch though. good luck Randy. Maybe things will break loose but I'm not betting on it anymore.

From my experience, the longer a bull market goes on, the harder it is for me to find new bullish setups as there comes a point that, other than the occasional bullish continuation pattern, the market & most stocks just keep going up in auto-pilot mode with "BTFD" as the most & sometimes only "objective" long entries on many stocks.

There were TONS of textbook bearish short set-up leading up to the Nov 2021 & Jan 2022 bull market tops in the $NDX & $SPX and just as many on most or all of the counter-trend (bear market) rallies since. As the bear goes on, you might find the same thing in reverse although I have shared some pretty solid (and profitable) bearish setups in just the past week or two so they are there, you just might have to expand or modify exactly what you are looking for in a bearish or short setup as the technicals evolve throughout this bear.

Different times, different situation & the big banks are in better shape than 2008 but certainly other problems, both known & unknown (by most) in the financial system this time around & like then, we are in a bear market with a recession almost certainly right around the corner.

Basically, no two bear markets are exactly alike. All I can say is that both the technicals & the fundamentals make the odds of another sharp leg down quite elevated (above 50%) right now. Thx for sharing

I'm biased to the bearish side, but I too am unable to find any bearish set-ups beyond those that are ripe for some profit-taking from overbought levels (such as NVDA, gold, and Bitcoin).

Rotation strikes again, keeping a bid under SPX with so many oversold sectors getting a much needed bounce from good support levels (XLF, XLI, XLE, XLV), while some tech, namely semiconductors are weaker.
Hello All,

I wanted to share this which no one has spoken of YET!

During the 2008 crisis, the Lehman Brothers announced Bankruptcy on Sep 15, 2008.

After that day, the SPY went down 5% in the next 3 days and in the next 2 days SPY sky-rocketed back to 12%. Once the low on the day that formed on Sep 18, 2008 was taken out on Sep 29, the market tanked almost 48%

So my thought process is by any chance, if we take out the low that was formed on March 13, 2023, we can make a serious case that Market could tank from here significantly.

I have created an Alert at $380 on SPY and I am planning to go all in on SHORT if it breaks that level.

What are your thought on that Randy?

Thanks.
