If you tried to increase the speed shortly after it was posted, most likely the speed options weren’t yet available because the video was still in the processing stage on YouTube’s servers.

I post the videos as soon as they can be played back (sometimes, just before), as some or all of the analysis & trade ideas might be time-sensitive and/or actionable. As such, the initial playback quality is always in 360p SD (standard, i.e., low definition).

YouTube will continue to process the video, next offering 720p HD (and then the higher 1280 or 4k video, if that’s what was recorded & uploaded to the YouTube channel). Next, depending on several variables, the servers will generate a transcript of the audio.

Somewhere between that initial SD pass & next HD rendering, the option to increase playback speed should appear. However, you should refresh the page to check for it in order to load the latest processed version of the video.
