The Russell has actually been underperforming the S&P500 since earlier in 2019. You wonder what has changed back then already.

adding further to my suspicion is that although the nasdaq futures are up, there's clearly a weakness in <abbr class='c2c-text-hover' title='Market breadth is a technique used in technical analysis that attempts to gauge the direction of the overall market by analyzing the number of companies advancing relative to the number declining. Positive market breadth occurs when more companies are moving higher than are moving lower, and it is used to suggest that the bulls are in control of the momentum. Conversely, a disproportional number of declining securities is used to confirm bearish momentum. source: investopedia.com'>market breadth</abbr> because the Russell is not in lock step with it here (its futures are completely flat)

Yep, that is a nice clean doji printed on the Q's yesterday but as you said (I'm just now seeing your comment from yesterday), we'd have to gap down today which as of 8:04 am EST as I type, doesn't appear to be the case. However, the day & even the morning is still young with the Employment report numbers due out in less than 30-minutes so we'll see.

Seems like nothing short of a silver bullet to the head followed by a wooden stake through the heart will stop this bull but as history has proved, both market trends & sentiment can change on a dime so we'll just have to wait for some decent sell signals on the daily & weekly charts to help spot a potential turning point.
