I know APP is a software stock & while I made the case for an objective long entry for a counter-trend bounce today, my thoughts on APP haven’t changed. Here’s an update I just posted the other day with charts. Now if the software sector does start to rally in the coming weeks, then there’s a decent chance it could drag APP up with it, potentially back above the 200-day MA’s. Until then, the outlook remains bearish until unless APP clearly regains that 542ish support just above the 200s.

The correlation between gold & the stock market has been so on & off over the past decades, at times completely positively correlated, at times inversely correlated, & then little to no correlation in either direction. Therefore, I find it best to trade the metals on their own technicals for the most part.

Treasury bonds have historically tended to move inversely to the stock market, but even that relationship has started to see periods of complete disconnects & even positive correlations at times in recent years, although I think I have a pretty good feel for when that is most likely to happen if the charts are clear at the time.

I think they they follow similar paths ….
