Actually, your loss potential is even worse as stop-loss orders are not available to use for AH trades, only stop-limit orders & stop-limit orders can & likely will be bypassed on a post-earnings swift drop, leaving you in the position with no limit on your losses if the stop-limit price is bypasses without your order filling. Big & important difference between stop-loss & stop-limit orders.

Somewhat of a crap shoot as you'll need to have a sell limit order for your profit target as well as a stop-loss order to limit losses if it doesn't go you way & targeting a 1% gain would typically entail a stop of no less than 1%. Also, keep in mind that a sudden post-earnings rip or dip can bypass the stop-loss level due to order imbalances with your stop-loss order filling at a much lower level than where your SL order was set.

Either way I think market will tank tomorrow when Fed raises or pause the rate because raising the rate means more turmoil in financial sectors and pausing means there is something more serious going on that Fed is not telling the public which could raise the suspicious behavior that leads to fear in the market!

I have tried all the etfs and options and option spreads. The only vehicle that can be used for Randy's portfolio and service is futures and having a large margin acct. to trade stocks short. you need enough capital for full size contracts as there arent enough micro underlyings to follow many asset classes. To spread out your bets. Your other option would be just to take maybe swing Micro trades in only equities. You need the contract not to decay... so if it takes 3 months to 6 months for his sell signals to pay off your still in the trade and able to benefit. I tried this year with options, spreads, and Long/short ETFS. Pretty much a futile waste of time. I did so much better with my Tbills. Good luck.

Hi <a href="https://rightsideofthechart.com/members/rsotc/" rel="ugc"><a href='https://rightsideofthechart.com/members/rsotc/' rel="ugc">@rsotc</a></a>,
I've been watching aftermarket price swings on earnings day. What are your thoughts on buying at the close and immediately placing a limit sell order for a 0.5-1% gain. It seems like most position freak out for a few minutes allowing for an exit on the up or down side. The same goes for a Fed announcement. That first minute or so always has wild swings.

One year ago today, SPX was trading exactly where it is trading today.
Also in both May and June of 2022, the lows of both bearish months were put in on monthly OPEX Fridays.
Potentially useless information, but kinda cool to know maybe....

Looks like potential bear traps in a lot of sectors today, including HYG which found support at the 50dayMA and bounced all the way to flat on the day. I guess no one's worried about credit yet. If credit continues to hold up, so will equities.
