Things like this happen. Have you remember that trading is like riding the bus or surfing. Miss one wave, it's ok, just be ready to catch the next one. But also like public transportation, you have to get off at your stop. Sometimes leaving profit on the table might just help you sleep better at night.

2nd this question. increased my position in weat today. I don't imagine there being any demand destruction for wheat as it's in everything and a staple food. Maybe down the road, farming costs could go up because of the tariffs.

Good morning Randy. I know you have talked a lot about using stops, ratcheting stops, booking profits etc. This morning, I closed my Vix longs at 25 ish (green horizontal line). I had averaged a nice position at about 19 ish. I was kicking myself when the Vix rose up to 30 because of China 34% retaliatory tariff.
I sort of wished I had taking half my position at 25, then more as it ticked up.
Books tell you not to trade on emotions etc. Taking 50% then using the other 50% to recycle back in seems an effective trading strategy.
Got anything new you like to share in terms of like missing out on a good trade? I'm now telling myself there will be more trading opportunities even though this train has already left the station.

Question on the WEAT, CORN, SOYB trade. Do the tariffs have any impact on this trade idea and if so, does it work for or against these trade ideas?

To reiterate, a "great" buying opp <abbr class='c2c-text-hover' title='In My Opinion'>IMO</abbr>, with the appropriate stops (depending on one's preferred price target, risk/loss tolerance, <abbr class='c2c-text-hover' title='Risk-to-Reward Ratio. e.g.- a 3:1 R/R would entail risking $1 of loss for every $3 of profit potential on the trade.'>R/R</abbr> preference, etc.) in the stock market and/or some of the Mag 8 stocks at key support with constructive charts.

I also just took a starter long in /CL (crude futures), USO (crude ETN) is down big & coming up to nice support. Just my .02 but the trade war, especially between the two mega economies (US & China) that are deeply dependent on each other, won't last very long.

For longer-term swing & trend traders still keeping their eye on the price (any or all of my longer-term downside targets), this is NOT an objective level to add to that short position, although that could come if the market bounces back to the bounce target on /NQ in the post above. For long-term swing & trend traders; Best to either sit tight, book partial profits, and/or lower stops, depending on your trading plan.

The potential for a single tweet or news headline to rapidly spark a potentially explosive short-cover rally is elevated now as is the risk of an outright market crash (lower probability than the former but a measurable risk at this time, nonetheless)
