I don’t understand calls/puts well enough to dive into those yet. Keeping an eye on the VIX is a good idea. Usually I don’t keep it on my radar, but maybe I should.

Sorry for the long delay, I was driving all day. I’ve heard the fundamental reasons for a market drop and they’re sound. But doing TA on the chart makes me think the charts will grind upwards. That’s why I was wondering if you could support the fundamental narrative with some TA that I’m not seeing, so the planets would be aligned.

Also in Gold I found what I think are analog chart patterns (Today would be July 01, 2016) . If those Gold patterns continue their twin looks, then a few days from now, Gold would start heading down in a slow grind for a while. That could support the idea of ES moving up as people sold Gold and bought stocks.

When the market sits in a precarious position like it’s in now, for days at a time, I think it’s behaving like the Anglerfish, showing people like me what they want to see. Maybe I’d see a market ready to break down and I’d add to shorts. “It sure is nice of SPY to stay there long enough for me to place a short trade or two!” I think once enough shorts are in place, a small nudge to the upside is all the market needs to surf short coverings upwards.

I’ve been saying we should be bullish for the past 2 weeks here but been massacred by folks going against their trades.

ALso follow tech. As long as tech. A lot of funds are going into tech as a safe haven. As tech goes so goes the markets. Hence AMZN and NVDA making new highs.
