I guess there is the possibility that inflation continues to be a problem and the Fed raises rates more than previously expected, despite the fact that QE has begun again with BTFP, and as the market now prices in rate cuts as soon as June of this year. Should the Fed surprise with even more hawkishness, then maybe we could get that big crash that we're looking for in QQQ and SOX and FAANMG.

QQQ is looking really strong. QQQ seems to be a “safety” play with the risks in the economy now hurting cyclical stocks. And while these risks are addressed with emergency central bank policies, it seems that investors are rotating money back into the trade that always works in an easy monetary policy environment: long mega-cap tech. Since tech stocks got the worst of it in 2023, isn’t it possible (probable) that tech outperforms cyclicals during this more “recessionary” phase of the bear market, similarly to how QQQ outpeformed during the final leg of the 2008-2009 bear market?

In reply to becky. This pivot is more in keeping with my thoughts I conveyed the other day. I know that sometimes Randy has a view to his trades that he's using offsetting positions to indirectly hedge. But all the commentary around the GLD, euro, CL, stock market didnt correlate. It seemed like to take all the trades you had to see the world two different ways. So for me I'm thinking FINALLY. Things are more in alignment.

I wonder, did you just notice that Euro and Gold priced in USD move together? Like for two years straight when Euro was falling you were bullish Gold longer term and now you suddenly noticed the correlation and decided to make a hard pivot? Man this is so bad.
