as i thought opens up .29 on the futures… lets see if it holds

Feb contract doesn’t stop trading until Thursday. Seasonal strength doesn’t begin until mid-February. Don’t catch falling knives.

But I still made a losing trade today, as usual.

I think what is happening right now in Natural Gas is similar to what happened in Crude Oil in April 2020, where prices plummeted lower than anyone could imagine as no buyers were willing to bid on the front month contract as expiration neared, finally ending up with massively negative oil prices on the final day of trading the contract. As we can see in Natural Gas, the front month contract is currently down 2.5% on the day, while the next month’s contract is down only 1%. Expiration for NG is next Thursday. I wouldn’t doubt if price keeps plummeting into Thursday and ends up much lower than any of us thought possible.

Did you not have a stop? Can you not buy puts against your long position and/or sell calls against it?

A good day for me these days is when I rummage though my neighbors garbage cans like some goddam stray cat and find a spoon still inside a can can of pork and beans so that I can start eating out of it right away. To hell with the botulism and salmonella, I’m hungry dammit!!! God help me, BOIL closed down at all time lows today and continues it’s slide into oblivion in after hours trading. My God, what have I done!?!?!…. WHAT HAVE I DONE!!!

I know exactly how you feel! Trading is the hardest thing to do in the world. Trading Natural Gas is even harder. Looking at monthly chart of NG, it looks like we are experiencing the two worst back to back months in the history of NG, and that momentum will likely continue into February, and then fizzle lower still. I think price bottoms out below $2 before finding the chance for a bounce next winter. I hope I’m wrong. At least we can learn once again why this is called the Widow Maker, and why most of us should stay away from it.

Well that hits close to home.

On the bright side I’m rummers of a polar Vortex creeping into the US next week.

ng going to $3… hopefully thats the bottom…
