I agree 100% on the fact VZ is at major long-term resistance & while once could make a case to short it as a long-term swing or trend trade (with a fairly wide stop), I can't make a strong case to do so. The main reason is that VZ is a heavily indexed stock & the bigger picture is that the major large-cap indices have been grinding around in a large, sloppy trading range for months now. While I do suspect they'll break those ranges to the downside, possibly after a brief whipsaw/false breakout to the upside, going long or short a stock like VZ right now will likely see that trade gyrate around back & forth for a while until this market picks the direction of the next major trend. Hence the reason that I'm not posting many swing trade ideas on individual stocks & indexes right now, rather focusing on actively trading the stock indices & swing trading select commodities (including the precious metals).

IBM has been one big choppy & sloppy mess since the snapback from the COVID lows in March. Here's my daily chart with a trading range (orange box) which IBM recent broke below but snapped right back up inside & remains at the bottom of that multi-month range now. Personally, I can't make heads or tails of where the stock goes from here but that's certainly not a healthy chart.

Could you be more specific as to which value stocks, maybe a particular value stock ETF? I'll be glad to look at the chart & give my 2 cents.

Probably not. In saying that, I am making a few assumptions. 1) That I am right & coffee may have just started the next major bullish trend (comparable & possibly larger than the previous double-digit bull runs in recent years) and 2) Coffee is somewhat unique in that once a clearly bullish or bearish trend is underway, it tends to make very strong, mostly unidirectional (up or down).
IMO, the best time to sell covered calls is when you own a long-term position that you want to stick with but based on the outlook/technical posture of the stock at the time, it appears that it is likely to consolidate or correct for a while. If so, you collect the income from selling the calls, which end up expiring worthless. If you sell covered calls on a security that is about to make a strong bull run, you are limiting your profit potential as your calls will be exercised & your shares taken away early on when the next big leg up gets underway. I'd rather sell covered calls on AAPL or any of the FAAMGs right now than coffee.(although I'm not long any of the FAAMGs)
