The government was going to top up oil reserves, but the funding fell through. That’s 77 million barrels of oil that were going to be purchase, but weren’t. That’s why USO was down big when the SPY was up big. It’s not a financial website, but I found the story at QinTheNews.com. Technical analysis is good, but sometimes there’s a news catalyst that Trumps the technicals.
