thanks Randy ... unfortunately being in Japan working through an old fashioned broker that feels like I am back in the 1990s I could only trade a few of these stocks - basically I was only able to trade RIG and IPI from this ... and I am also frustrated by only having the most basic of ag commodity etfs available to me ... but I have done my best to take what I have learned from you and apply it where I can ... I have been able to find set ups in the Japan market, even in oversold household names (with divergent lows) like Canon and Mitsubishi, bank, clothing, food and utility stocks that have returned 20-70% for me since the November whipsaw fake out sell-off ... a number of the Japanese sectors have broken out above their downtrend lines from 2018 highs mostly ... it just makes me wonder if you might take a little time to look at the boring big names once in awhile, USA of course ... I am only thinking that at the same time as this November video I was looking at the Dow 30 stocks and noticed that the only non-energy one of those that was set up in an oversold but divergent low bullish wedge posture was Walgreens and sure enough it had a nice 50% run up (despite terrible earnings) ... selfishly I wish some of the boring old names would show up more if only to check in on them, but maybe that would be something you would address in the trading room if asked so it is my fault for only being silver (but I am sleeping here during the US trading sessions and I am limited in the US stocks I can trade and how I can buy them and if I went gold I would just bug you with my Japanese stock sector charting) ... it also surprises me that people have already forgotten that the Sept 2019 - Feb 2020 rally gains were gone in about 5 days and worse for me if I had been long was that a lot of the Japanese index etfs were completely locked up couldn't get in or out during the crash ... anyway I was thinking of your comment about how now resembles the year 2000 and I have had this long term SPX chart in the back of my mind for the last year or more ... but it is a monthly chart which is not the kind of chart often thought about ... I can't seem to get trading view to replicate your ppo so I just use the normal MACD for the second indicator but the rsi divergences are massive from the 2018 peak and the normal run of the mill MACD is record overbought ...

Good to know, thanks for sharing. The rally in global equities could continue for quite a while but based on current valuations & the many yellow/red flags in the market, not a bad time to start moving out of growth stocks & into cash and/or value & defensive stocks/sectors.

However, we have to trade the market that we have - so perhaps you may want to consider a change in trades you are looking for and consider short term swing trades or scalps. The Market is already up 20%-ish since November and all we have had here is limited upside and risk of reversal is big videos! For all we know, it can certainly go up some more with more stimulus from DC for next few months and we could all benefit from some quick scalps while we await the inevitable correction...

$6 was a nice target, I thought $4.75 was the more likely number and got out of part of my trade there. I really like $10 target. Going to let the rest ride a little longer tomorrow, I will keep a tight stop on it. But I wonder who is left to buy after 19 million trades today?

Been trading Ag Inputs almost solely for last couple months. Thanks @ROTC most success I have ever had. I was the one who sold CGA about 10 seconds before it went on a huge ride. The volume keeps going up on these. What do you guys think it means that RKDA had 19 million shares traded today. I have never seen any of these ag inputs ever come any where near that kind of volume?

In reply to TJS.

My view on the broad market is that the R/R (risk-to-reward ratio) is & has been unfavorable for quite some time now, despite the resilient uptrend. That view is based on both fundamentals & technicals. Essentially, it means that I believe there is more downside risk than upside potential. Another way to phrase it is that the next 30%+ in the broad market is more likely to be to the downside than the upside. The S&P 500 is trading about 20% above where it was in early June of last year so while an impressive rally for sure, keep in mind that other than a handful of sell signals that I highlighted based on breakdowns mostly on the 60-minute charts (two of which played out for decent swing short/pullback trades & several which proved to be whipsaws), there hasn't been a strong case to be short or remain short after the pullback targets were hit or the sell signals proved to be whipsaws. So basically, no reason to have lost much money shorting since the March lows.
On the flip side, while long-side trade ideas have been relatively light in recent months, there have still been plenty of them & more importantly, those that I've shared have vastly outperformed the broad market. Not cherry-picking as I randomly picked one of the trade ideas videos from last quarter. Not all, but nearly all of those trade ideas (nearly all of which were longs) played out not just for gains but most posting triple-digit gains (100%+ and even a 1,300% gainer) since the day of that video (Nov 18th: https://rightsideofthechart.com/swing-trade-ideas-11-18-20/ )
Here are the gains from that day. Of course, many exceeded the final price target shown at that time & many triggered buy signals shortly after the video, so might have had higher (or lower) entry points. Still, just a handful of these trades, even if sold half-way through their runs, would have vastly outperformed the stock market. Again, gains below are from the day of the video to the peak. Some of these stocks are still at or near their post-breakout highs while others, like EXPR, have already run their course.

I love this site, I love Randy. I try not to be critical. But man, these videos always paint the upside potential as minimal, but stocks are up like 300-1500%. I must literally be in the 0.10% that did not partake much in this market, always expecting the next down turn. My god, I cant take much more. LOL
