Do you think we’re out of the bear market now? How would you figure that out objectively?

Could you clarify what gap you are referring to & also, by CME, you are referring to the stock, CME Group, correct?

Sure. If I had a good read on where it might go from here I would let you know. Feel free to bump me for my thoughts on it again soon as it can move fast & as such, I might see something in the charts that I don’t see right now.

I’ve been watching the miners along with gold & can’t make a strong case to go long for a swing trade based on the posture of the charts right now although that in no way means that they can’t or won’t rally from here. I’ll follow up with some charts and/or comments on the miners but also wanted to post my reply to this question in the trading room a few minutes ago:
Q: Do you think that if gold breaks out, the gold miners will also break to the upside?
A:Yes but with a caveat: If the market enters a very impulsive stage of selling lasting for days or weeks, during such market conditions it is not unusual to see gold catching a flight-to-safety bid yet the miners underperforming or even dropping, as they are equities and during periods of impulsive, broad-based selling, the miners will sometimes get hit with selling pressure along with most other equities.
During times like that, I will usually prefer an overweighted position in gold over a position in the miners, which are usually my preferred trading proxy for gold under normal market conditions (when the charts/trend of gold are/is bullish, of course).
We’re not there right now but from the way things look, there is a chance that we could be soon.

I think so but as soon as a get some time, I’d like to go through the charts of the individual railroad stocks & find the most attractive short setups.
