Randy, thanks for putting out this video before the next open. I completely agree with your longer term analysis, but I keep staring at this huge gap in SPY and QQQ above and a huge gap in VIX.X below. Normal behavior would be the typical VIX smash to fill all these gaps before moving lower. I can't believe they would move lower with prices before a serious attempt to fill these gaps.

In reply to <a href="https://rightsideofthechart.com/stock-market-analysis-and-price-targets-1-20-22/#comment-23085">Blueberry</a>.

Thanks for the feedback. Funny thing is, that although that analysis is based on the long-term (weekly & monthly) charts, those targets very much have the possibility of being hit in relatively short term (i.e.- days to weeks on the upper/initial targets, weeks to months on the current max. targets so quite possible those are "short-term" possibilities (just with big % moves).

It is more than common to see months & even years of gains in the stock market wiped out in mere weeks or months. As of now, the economy is still strong so we'll just have to assess things as they develop but whether IF and WHEN we hit those current max* targets on the weekly chart. As of now, this can most certain prove to be just a run-of-the-mill correction back to the 200-day MA's or thereabout, with another leg up. The good news is that we should know if that is or isn't the case within the next few weeks or so, maybe sooner. FOMC meeting on deck for next week so I wouldn't be surprise the see the markets go into a holding period around the 200-MAs until then but over the years, I've learned to be prepared, ready to move on short notice, & expect the unexpected.

(*key word being "current", as IF we get there, there's a good chance that will have flipped most of all of my longer-term indicators to bearish, indicating a new bear market is underway, in which case additional targets may be added).
