likely +1000% on put.. -100% on call…….still a good trade….

I bought some 1DTE QQQ puts today to play the tariff news. I am reminded of the Wolf of Wallstreet quote, “Your only regret will be not buying more…” Haha just kidding but dang that was definitely the best trade I’ve made all year if this sticks.

I’ve been trying to predict where the price of gold/miners are going to go after this news. I can see it going both ways for various reasons! What are your thoughts?

Very sorry to hear the tariffs are affecting your industry but I appreciate you sharing that as I value hearing feedback like this first-hand from those in key industries that are leading indicators for the economy, such as trucking.

Yep. So far market thought they were going to like what Trump was selling (big 1.75% rally in AH, then decided they didn’t (followed by a 5% drop). That subsequent drop took out that “lights out” 466 support on QQQ, so next up (last near-term support) is the recent low, with a cluster of stop-loss orders on longs sitting somewhat below it. Tomorrow should be interesting one way or the other & maybe some fireworks in the overnight session on the stock futures.

My customer had a webinar today. Our forecast for the year was just reduced 18%. I’m in the trucking industry. Also, 2026 was supposed to be such a huge year that they customer was thinking about pre-buying in 2025 to meet 2026 demand. They said this is likely off the table.

Yeah for sure. Just meant a tradable pullback for day trading. Next leg down definitely TBD. Not as reliable as on daily charts, but there’s a clean head and shoulders pattern on the intraday charts (neckline 473 on QQQ).

Trump tariff announcement at market close will certainly move markets. If he leaves the situation uncertain, I feel like markets will not like it. I think that’s likely given Trump likes to keep things uncertain to maintain leverage.

Too early for high fives as nothing more than a reflexive, near-term overbought pullback off support so far, but I do think it will be game on if that 466ish support on QQQ goes.
