Funny story,

Me an my wife talk trade over dinner (she works data analytics I stay home trade and watch our daughter) so she was asking how it was going and I was telling her everyone is waiting on the speech from powel but the market is a bit on the high side right now, if you really wanted to make money on that speech or force his hand to cut rates again you would want to see a nice correction.

that's what I'm seeing the algos seem to be full and it's time for the rest of us to get some pie; but I'm watching gold and treasury slide down ever so slightly, but silver seems to be holding up ok.

For instance, TLT moved in unison for most of 2017 and then diverged in 2018. Thus, it seems completely unreliable as a type of technical analysis. JMHO but curious about yours.

Randy, technically it sure seems like both gld and spx are topped and due for a pullback. The only thing that makes me suspect is your suggestion that they move opposite to each other, but looking at their charts overlayed, it shows MANY times historically that they move together. Sometimes for a month or 2 like this summer or sometimes for years like 02-07. Is there really any validity to the idea of risk on and risk off then? I see a similar history of TLT:SPX.
