I can definitely appreciate your view, but I have a different position on NQ.
Attached is the corresponding green channel for NQ. What I think is worse for the bear scenario is that NQ has just taken today a super, super, super important resistance, at 8950, so there is nothing in between the current level and 9700, the All Time High.
NQ is a duck that is already flying high.
(of course, this is just my view)

If It gets over 9150 I'm a bull on NQ, otherwise the duck is ready to eat

if you followed the NQ trendlines Randy put up, you'd see it hasn't broken up yet. The duck doesn't quack like a duck yet

Here is a better view of the green channel on a daily chart. In this view there are 3 tags on the upper line of the channel and 3 tags on its lower line.
Also, I have added the invalidation alternative, which would be a close below the 2820 support (yellow arrow), but it would have to be a solid close below that level. Otherwise we could just bounce of the 2820 support and keep back-testing the green channel or reenter it.

Indeed, the purple channel isn't holding. We had a correction and now we're most likely going higher, but you can just follow those down arrow. One day I am sure the market will go down.
As for why more people will spend more than people spending less, go and read about DISPOSABLE INCOME.
Do you know why, let's say for Apple, someone who makes 100K is worth a million times more than someone who makes 20K? Because the one making 20K has money only for the bare necessities (no DISPOSABLE INCOME). That person spends EVERYTHING regardless of economic conditions, because it doesn't have a choice. And you know what someone who makes 100K does? Reduces the spending in crisis and catches up once the danger has passed. Would you like me to explain this in more simple terms?

I work for a network security company that reported very good Q1 numbers last night. I can tell you sales are tanking so far in Q2. Problem is that companies are retracting guidance for the rest of the year. It is all wishful thinking from investors that once we open back up everything will be back to normal quickly. This does not happen in a recession, but that is still what investors are thinking.
Meanwhile it is death by a thousand cuts in my accounts,

BTW, the chart for ES chart above is holding up nicely today. Divergent high and rejection?

I bet you thought your purple channel was going to hold....until it didn't. This is why you look at multiple time frames. What does Randy point to when showing why some trend lines are more valid than others?

People spending more than average? LOL. On what planet are you living? I love when people who know nothing about unemployment make ridiculous assumptions based on surface level facts.
